Marriage was never Sade’s idea.

In her world, a daughter was not

raised to have opinions. She was raised to become someone’s wife.

Sade became a wife twice over. First, to cover a shame that was never hers to carry. Then again because apparently a widow with opinions is like a goat anybody can drag anywhere.

When she makes her second marriage, she swears it will be different. So when desire enters her life in the most inconvenient form, Sade must decide what kind of woman she wants to be: the obedient one everyone expects, or the dangerous one who refuses to quietly disappear.
